One national beer brand used to claim its product came “from the land of sky blue waters.”
Gilbert’s Desert Monks Brewery Co. doesn’t make that claim, though the water it uses to make its lager may be cleaner than anything a national beer maker ever used.
Desert Monks is using ultra-purified recycled water from Scottsdale’s Advanced Water Treatment Plant for its lager.
That’s right, used water.
It’s pure though, purer than the water you are getting from your tap, officials say. ‘Purer than bottled water’
After the recycled water is treated to A+ standard, it undergoes several more purifying processes: ozonation, membrane ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and ultraviolet photolysis. The final product is a water of the highest quality, according to Scottsdale Water Executive Director Brian Biesemeyer." ....
